Ars Electronica ‘06 report

While I’m about to start writing a report about the NextFest I just attended in New York, Idearium published my report about this year Ars Electronica Festival. Unfortunately it has been written only in Italian but it contains plenty of links and they can be of interest also for foreign readers.

Ars Electronica short report

Today I came back after my first Ars Electronica. Althought Linz is a very small town, it was really exhausting walking to all the venues around trying to optimize my short trip.

It was a big pleasure to meet old friends and other very interesting people. It really seamed the place to be and fortunately I was there this time. If I will go there again the next year, I’ll try definitely to stay longer :)

Here the very few shoots I captured there.

Interaction Design Institute Ivrea @ Triennale - Milan

After the visit to the “Salone del Mobile”, where the most interesting place to visit was the “Salone Satellite”, I went to the opening of an exhibition by IDII at Triennale of Milan. They showed different pieces some by the students and some by the teachers… well, I didn’t receive any good explaination about them so I don’t want to judge them but I had really difficult to understand their utility. I hope just the Interaction Design has not to be relegated just to artistic exhibitions.

Digital Design Museum London

This last week-end I visited with my friend Paolo Lucchi the Design Museum in London. Very small exhibitions in a very small museum… it was nice, but I was disappointed to see in the Multimedia area just works already seen on Internet. Anyway the selection is very good, maybe not so uptodate thinking to the last work of Pitaru.
